It was a huge commercial and critical success, and it was only a matter of time before a sequel to animated smash-hit Frozen was announced, and it has just happened.
Variety reports that the film was announced at the annual Disney shareholders’ meeting, delivered by Disney Pixar heavyweight John Lassenter and Josh Gad, voice of Olaf. Details regarding plot and production are thin at the moment, but we do know that directors of the original Frozen film, Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, are working on the project, but whether they will direct or not is unclear.
Frozen made over $1.2 billion worldwide, and the short-film semi-sequel Frozen Fever, detailing the birthday party of Ana is coming out very soon (we reviewed the trailer here if you wish to check it out). Personally, I’m very excited for Frozen 2, because I really enjoyed the original, and hopefully this new entry will be able to live up to its expectations.
