The very first snippet of footage from the hotly-anticipated Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice has been revealed.

Tweeted by director Zack Snyder today (16th April), the 22-second clip shows close-ups of the costumes of both superheros primarily featured in the 2016 film, before announcing the release date for a full-length teaser trailer.

Snyder also tweeted a link where users can RSVP for places in the IMAX screenings of the trailer. It is currently unclear whether or not the trailer will be released online simultaneously, or if there will be a time delay.

Anticipation for the full-length teaser trailer is rife, but rumours of a release have been circulating for a while. It was originally thought that the trailer would be shown alongside Mad Max: Fury Road, but this rumour has obviously since been quashed. It is also worth noting that the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) website gave it the upcoming trailer a 12A rating, probably equating to a PG-13 certificate in America. It also listed the trailer as being 2 minutes and 6 seconds long. If you haven’t seen the original teaser, you can watch it here:
