Well, I’ll be honest in saying that I never thought I would write an article about this page hitting 1000 views. We started off slow, garnering only around 81 views in our first month of operation, which put into perspective is around half of what we got last week alone. I’m absolutely amazed that so many people have taken an interest in what I write, and some of your feedback has been incredibly beneficial, so to everyone who has commented, sent an email, tweeted us or anything to help us out, I thank you sincerely.

I know that you probably hear this all the time, but hitting 1000 views really means the world to me. I’ve put so much time into running this blog (and put myself through a couple of frankly atrocious films), and there were days where I considered giving up this blog and going back to life before I wrote about my opinions of films. Since 5th November 2014, the day I began this blog, there were countless dry streaks where we didn’t get any views, and there were periods where I completely neglected the site for weeks on end, but now we’ve got a dedicated audience of around 30 or so people, there’s no chance that will ever happen again.

Once again, I would like to thank each and every one of the 578 different visitors we’ve had to this site, because it has cemented my ideas of what I want to do with my life, which is watch films and review them, alongside news and opinion articles, for your reading pleasure. As I’ve said before, at the start of 2015 I set myself a target of 1000 views by the end of the year, and it’s simply phenomenal that I’ve managed to do it within two months. For this reason, I’m going to be aspirational and try and get 2000 views on the blog before the year of 2015 ends. It will be hard work, but I’ll try my very best to make this dream a reality.

Also just a quick update regarding the 1000 View Week series. In yesterday’s article announcing the series, I said that once I hit 1000 views I would give you my top 10 films of all time. I posted the shortlist of these films on my Twitter (@thatfilmbloguk) earlier today, but due to a total watch list of a fairly modest 250 films, it will be a top 5 instead of a top 10, since I haven’t seen 10 films that I believe truly deserve a place on the list, but there will be a few honourable mentions.

Once again, thank you all so much for helping me to reach such an incredible milestone, and I hope you stick around because the sky is the limit for this blog. I am so grateful for all your feedback and comments, and just for helping a teenager share his passion with the world.
