Netflix appears to be on top of the world right now. Holding streaming rights to hit TV shows such as Breaking Bad, producing incredible unique content such as Better Call Saul, House of Cards and BoJack Horseman, and having rights to huge films such as The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, it seems like there is nothing that could slow Netflix down from outright domination of the television industry.
However, one would image that Netflix would try and sit on what they have, and play it relatively safe. Luckily for us, they have done completely the opposite. When Ben Affleck’s Daredevil was released in 2003, it absolutely bombed, with the character being ridiculed by fans and critics alike. But something has just changed. Netflix has released a trailer for their original TV series, available for streaming on 10th April 2015, Daredevil. Here it is:
Personally, I thought the trailer was great. I’m liking what we’ve seen of Charlie Cox so far as Daredevil himself, and it will be interesting to see how his character fits into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I like the fact that this seems to be very dark, which a comic like Daredevil, all based around betrayal and revenge, and with a focus on the criminal underworld, should be. However, it is just a teaser, so we can’t take too much from it, but from what we have so far, I can’t wait until April 10 rolls around.
