Film pick: Since there’s so many films here – much more than normal – it’s quite hard to select just one, so this time around there will be a couple of picks. Firstly there is Birdman, an Oscar-winning comedy-drama starring Michael Keaton. It’s a sublime film that is so well-made, and deserves all the credit it gets. Second is Whiplash, starring Miles Teller and J.K. Simmons, an arguably better film than Birdman that packs one hell of a sucker punch due to its remarkable intensity. I also enjoyed Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and Ted a lot over this period of time.

TV pick: This time around, there is only one choice. I began watching Community a while ago but recently got back into it after a lull, and simply fell in love. It is perfectly written, with so many subtle jokes that warrant multiple rewatches, incredibly acted – I fell in love with these characters – and is honestly a masterpiece. Sure, season 4 isn’t the best, but it is still endlessly watchable, and the entire show as a whole is sublime. I’ll admit that I got so attached to these characters that by the time I finished the final episode, I shed a lot of tears. It’s such a shame that this show doesn’t get the praise it deserves, since it is truly the best television show I have ever seen.
