The very first image of Jared Leto as the Joker in the upcoming film Suicide Squad has been revealed.
The image, tweeted by Suicide Squad director David Ayer, shows Leto in full Joker makeup, accessorised with an assortment of tattoos and a Madonna-esque tooth grill. Here is the image:
Honestly, I am not a huge fan of this take on the Joker. I feel it strays too far from the comic origins of the Clown Prince of Crime, and I am not liking the variety of tattoos and tooth grill. It’s nothing like we’ve ever seen before regarding the Joker, but it may just be a step too far.
However, I have utmost confidence in Jared Leto, who has proven to be a powerhouse actor in recent years, so I’m sure that Leto will anchor the character, even if the design is not to my liking.
