Wondering whether or not there is a Gladiator 2 post credits scene? Nearly 25 years after Maximus stepped in the arena, Ridley Scott has finally followed up with a sequel to Gladiator. If you’re planning to catch it in theaters but don’t know whether to stick around until the very end, we’ve got you covered.
Gladiator 2 Post Credits Scene Explained
Gladiator 2 does not have a post credits scene, we can confirm. As such, you can leave the cinema as soon as the main credits start rolling, safe in the knowledge that you won’t miss out on anything.
We can verify this ourselves, having caught Gladiator 2 at its UK regional premiere on November 13, 2024. The lights should go up once the final scene ends, and there aren’t any extra tidbits of story to follow up on once that happens.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, because Ridley Scott isn’t exactly the kind of filmmaker to readily put post-credit stings in his movies. Even his most commercial movies, such as recent films like Prometheus and Alien: Covenant, are without post credits stings. Since he’s a very traditional director in his technique, it would be a surprise to see Scott adopt the hallmark of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by doing this.
That said, it doesn’t mean that there’s no inclination of a Gladiator 3 on the horizon. Scott himself has said as much, telling the French website Premiere that he’s “already toying with the idea” of a follow-up. Without delving into spoilers, Gladiator 2 certainly ends on a more open-ended note than its predecessor. Given Scott’s recent penchant for revisiting older stories, such as the aforementioned Alien prequels, it seems more a case of when, not if.
Regardless, rest assured that after the 150-minute epic that is Gladiator 2, there’s nothing awaiting you at the end of the credits.
