Film of the month: This month, I think the obvious choice here is The Shawshank Redmption. I said more about it in my review (click here), but all you need to know is that it is an absolutely incredible film, rife with brutality, emotion and clearly made with such affection. Although I personally disagree with its placement on the IMDb Top 250 list, I urge you to watch The Shawshank Redemption whenever you can, because it is simply fantastic.

TV Show of the month: I remember watching the pilot for Community a few months ago and dismissing it as just another sitcom, but having binged on it over the past few days, I am so glad to say that I was very wrong. Community is absolutely brilliant: so easy to watch, packed with hilarious moments, has a cast full of very talented people, and even manages to have some heart. Although it has lost steam recently after it was canceled and subsequently picked up by Yahoo, I am glad I’ve started watching Community, because it is so easy to watch, and just great television.
