Looking for the Benz movie release date? The latest film in the Lokesh Cinematic Universe was officially announced back in April 2024, though details on it are still thin on the ground. Read on to find out when we can expect the movie to release, and what its story may involve.

Benz Movie Release Date Countdown

At the time of writing, the Benz movie does not have a confirmed release date. However, principal photography started in May 2025, so we can expect an early 2026 release date.

The good news is that after a long period of silence, Benz is finally filming. This started in May 2025 and is expected to last for a couple of months. We also know that Nivin Pauly will appear in Benz as the main protagonist, so all of the cast is now in place.

On October 29 the franchise’s creator, Lokesh Kangaraj, posted on X that renowned star Raghava Lawrence would feature, and that the movie would slot into the LCU. Check out that post below:

The teaser also released some early footage, including Lawrence looking at the Benz helmet amid explosions, and some pre-vis shots of action sequences we can expect to appear in the film. Given Benz now has its cast, filming can finally begin. Therefore, an early 2026 release date seems the most likely if production goes smoothly.

Since that post, Kanagaraj has also confirmed that Sai Abhyankkar has joined the movie as its Music Director. As such, it seems that pre-production is well underway, but principal photography has yet to begin.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there will be any other Lokesh Cinematic Universe movies in the interim to tide fans by until Benz releases. Other films said to be in production include Kaithi 2 for 2026, Leo 2, and Vikram 2, plus a spin-off movie based on the Vikram character Rolex. Without any concrete release dates for any of them though, they’ll likely come out once Benz is finished.

Therefore, it seems like fans will need to wait for a little while prior to the release of the Benz movie. As soon as we hear any more, we’ll update this guide.
