December 28, 2023: We updated our guide on whether South Park is ending in 2027.

Few sitcoms are as long-running as South Park. As we look ahead to the Season 27 release date, questions are inevitably arising as to how much longer we’ve got of Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny. In this guide, we’ll answer one key question: Is South Park ending in 2027?

Will South Park End in 2027?

While not confirmed, it seems very unlikely for South Park to end in 2027.

That said, it’s no surprise as to why fans see that as a key year for the show. When it’s long-running deal with Paramount+ was announced in 2021, with straight-to-streaming movies and a range of new seasons, it was only confirmed up until 2027.

As such, South Park fans see 2027 as the current end date, based on what has been officially confirmed. Despite this, a show as enduring and ceaselessly popular as South Park will certainly not go away soon. It’s still going from strength to strength with two streaming specials this year (Enter the Panderverse and Not Suitable For Children), plus a new video game, South Park: Snow Day, coming out in 2024.

For that reason exactly, it’s incredibly unlikely that Matt Stone and Trey Parker would end South Park just a few years after that. Looking at recent viewership data, episodes from Season 26 were still pulling in close to 500,000 viewers at broadcast, not including those streaming on catch-up or Paramount+. With a keenly dedicated fanbase and thousands still willing to watch, South Park is undoubtedly safe for years to come.
